Cassian Holt

Soulful stories from the heart of the city.

Cassian Holt grew up on Chicago’s South Side, where the hum of the El train and the soulful echoes of church choirs shaped his sound. Raised by a single mother who spun classic Aretha and Donny Hathaway records on Sunday mornings, Cassian began writing poetry at age twelve before pairing it with melodies on his uncle’s battered keyboard. After studying music theory at Columbia College, he spent years gigging in smoky West Loop lounges and experimenting with lo-fi beats in his apartment studio. His artistic philosophy centers on vulnerability as power—turning everyday heartbreaks, quiet triumphs, and city grit into lush, introspective anthems. With a voice that glides between silky falsetto and grounded baritone, Cassian crafts neo-soul that feels both timeless and urgently modern, inviting listeners into the emotional core of Chicago’s streets and souls.
